OMG!! I love your blog!!! YUMMY!!! HA!! Thanks for stopping my my blog.

To answer your question about Bare Minerals; I really love Bare Minerals. The coverage is great, it's affordable compared to other high end foundations, it has ingredients that are actually good for your skin and I hear that people who have issues with their skin really benefit from it since it doesn't clog up your pores, is light on the skin, etc. You should check it out.

I didn't notice where you're located, but if you are near a Sephora, Ulta or a Bare Minerals store, stop in and ask for a sample. That way you can try it before you commit to buying!!

Talk to you soon!!

Baked with Love by Carousel

Ordered chocolate, marble, carrot, lemon and coffee cupcakes for my monthly meeting at work. Super delicious, super moist and packed with tons of yummy goodness! Everyone in the office really enjoyed the cupcakes. We will order from Carousel again for future meetings.

Mini cupcake size was not really mini but a regular size and regular was larger than expected! Super price for the sizes you get.

Olaf Rice Crispy Sculpture

Build a snowman in the summer with rice crispy treats and buttercream.   I can't say I miss the snow because I am perfectly happy with this warm weather.  Just in case, here is one way to make a snowman in the summer.  But before that here are some pics from my niece's Frozen themed birthday party.

Here is how I made Olaf....

You will need:

3 preparations of rice crispy treats (found in any Rice Crispy cereal box)
about 150 g brown fondant
60 g orange fondant
250 g black fondant
250 g white fondant for eyes, teeth, and cheeks
1 preparation of shortening base buttercream
3 large bamboo BBQ sticks
1 foot bendable florist wire
toothpicks
gardening sheers

Make Olaf's head first since this will determine the size and the proportionality of the whole sculpture.  The recipe found in the Rice Crispy cereal box is perfect amount to make Olaf's head.  Use the microwave method to make a chewy and more malleable rice crispy treats.  Let the treats sit for a maximum of 8 minutes…

Pilipit - Filipino Twisted No Yeasts Donut

Pilipit is a Filipino style donut.  It has a crunchy outer shell and a soft inside.  It is similar to bannock or elephant ears.  These are similar to donuts and leavened with baking powder.  Traditionally coated with sugar or glazed

I coated mine with powder sugar kind of like their elephant ears counter part.  But you know what they are perfect on their own without sugar.  The dough is sweet enough to hold on its own.

The ones that I made are for some reason soft on the inside.  I'm certain it's because I rested my dough for more than 30 minutes instead of the usual 15 minutes.  If you guys want more crunch in your pilipit just proof it (resting stage) for 15 minutes or less.

Pilipit

Ingredients:

2 eggs
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
2 cups all purpose flour ( add a bit more if the mixture sticks to your hand)
3 tablespoon of milk ( add more if final mixture is dry)
