Girlie Mardi Gras
Lets just say I don't even want to part with this cake. My favourite cake. The tallest and biggest cake that I did so far. Actual size 16"X16" ( up to the tip of the ostrich feathers).
The first layer is coffee chiffon cake filled with coffee buttercream icing. I then crumb coat it with coffee buttercream and topped it off with pink vanilla buttercream icing. The diamond and polkadot patterns are chocolate buttercream dyed black. The mask, shoes, beads and stars are made with gum paste and fondant.
Below is my sketch. Instead of solid black diamond pattern I outlined the diamonds black with a star in the middle. This way is more feminine and has a look of lingerie lace.
